Our Approach
Grounded in the EYFS and Layered with the Forest Approach — The Forest Oasis gives children the freedom to explore, create, and learn in a natural outdoor environment. Through activities like den building, nature crafts, and hands-on exploration, children develop confidence, independence, and resilience while connecting with the world around them.
Our experienced practitioners guide and support children's experiences, encouraging curiosity, problem-solving and teamwork. Forest School is more than outdoor play. It is an opportunity for children to build life skills, embrace challenges, and grow into capable, confident individuals.
A Typical Day in Forest School
At Forest Oasis, children spend the day immersed in nature, learning through play, exploration, and hands-on activities. While no two days are exactly the same, a typical session might include:
Morning Welcome
Gathering together to discuss the day, share ideas and set intentions.
Exploration & Free Play
Children explore the outdoor environment, discovering plants, insects, and natural materials, climbing safely, or building dens.
Guided Activities
Practitioners lead activities such as nature crafts, storytelling, or simple problem-solving challenges using natural materials.
Snack & Rest Breaks
Time to recharge with healthy snacks and moments of reflection or quiet.
Teamwork & Skill-Building
Children work together on projects, learning cooperation, communication, and practical skills like tool use.
Connection with Nature
Opportunities for mindfulness, sensory play, and observing seasonal changes, fostering curiosity and respect for the environment.
Reflection & Sharing
The day ends with a group reflection, where children share discoveries, celebrate achievements, and plan for future adventures.
